Guaranteed Growth Funds

The Guaranteed Growth Fund is a part of Clerical Medical Investment Group Limited's With-Profits Fund, and the operation of this fund has a direct impact on your investment. Under a reinsurance agreement we pass a part of each investment to Clerical Medical Investment Group Limited to be invested in its With-Profits Fund. When an investor takes money out of the Guaranteed Growth Fund, Clerical Medical Investment Group Limited passes back the amount payable out of its With-Profits Fund. In this way policies invested in the Guaranteed Growth Fund may share in the profits earned in the Clerical Medical Investment Group Limited With Profits Fund.

Depending on the currency of investment, separate groups of assets are used to set bonus levels for different groups of investors, investing in different types of with-profits funds such as Guaranteed Growth Funds.

A Guaranteed Growth Fund is a medium to long-term investment designed to generate capital growth and provide some guarantees over the medium to long term and also provide some stability against market ups and downs in the short term.

The guarantees vary between funds and products. Withdrawals from a Guaranteed Growth Fund when a guarantee doesn't apply could mean you get back less than you invested.
